Elizabeth Park is the home of the world famous, two and a half acre rose garden containing around 800 varieties of roses. Located in Hartford, Conn., people go to see the flower beds and bushes filled with an abundance of intensely hued roses.  The park itself is a recreational area that encompasses 102 acres, including pathways, greenhouses, lawns, and a pond. Many weddings are held under the rose covered arched walkways and the gazebos located around the rose garden.  Most go visit Elizabeth Park in mid June, when the roses are at peak bloom and the garden is said to be its most fragrant.
