Kumba’s Beauty Salon, owned by Coumba Ndong, is a unique place at the south end of Danbury’s Main Street specializing in ethnic hairdos and hair care. Kumba’s offers variety of services, including hair braiding, weaving, relaxing, and barbering. Kumba’s also sells ethnic hair care products and extensions for individual styles.
There’s a strong sense of community at the salon. Coming together from different salons throughout Connecticut and New York, Ndong and her associates opened their shop in August 2012, starting small with four chairs.
You can find Ndong moving about the salon with a little address book, taking payments, and making appointments. Then she’ll pull up a stool up beside her associates to offer instruction and help finish hairstyles. The results are good as the stylists are all well-experienced – their talents leave customers looking transformed, confident, and beautiful.
Kumba’s Beauty Salon is open to all ages and ethnicities Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-7pm and at other times available times upon request. For appointments or general inquiries, call Kumba’s at (203)791-1815 or visit the salon at 17 Main Street in Danbury.
