Call for Artists: ‘The Eighth Crossing’ Juried by Christopher Zhang at Hygienic Art

The Hygienic Art Galleries in New London, Connecticut will accept submissions from artists in all medias for ‘The Eighth Crossing’ Juried Exhibition. Hygienic Art is extremely proud to announce that this year’s guest juror will be world-renowned oil painter Christopher Zhang. The exhibition will open on Saturday, April 27 with an artist reception from 7 to 10pm.


Cash prizes for the top three pieces of the show will be awarded thanks to the generous support of Hygienic Art’s community partners at Harbour Towers.


“The arts are an important part of the strong community fabric that Harbour Towers is proud to be part of here in downtown New London,” said Harbour Towers Developer Tony Silvestri. “We are excited to honor the great talent here by taking part in ‘The  Eighth Crossing’ Juried Exhibition at the Hygienic Art Galleries.”


Prizes will be presented to winning artists at the opening reception.

$15.00 for single entry

$25.00 for two entries

$30.00 for three entries

Guidelines for Submitted Works:

Artists may submit up to three pieces for consideration. All media are welcome. Work must be current and available for purchase. No works previously shown at Hygienic will be accepted. All works must be suitably framed with wires and ready for hanging. No clips or sawtooth hangers. All metal frames must have hangers and wire. Work submitted must not exceed 60” in either direction. Sculpture must be easily transportable and weigh no more than 50 pounds. All work must remain for the duration of the show. Hygienic Art will retain 30% of sales and collect 6% CT state sales tax. Hygienic Art will not be responsible for unclaimed work. Although Hygienic takes the utmost care with all submitted artworks, Hygienic Art holds no responsibility for loss or damage to submitted artwork.
