THE STONY HILL FOUR CORNERS ASSOCIATION (SH4C) is preparing for another cheerful and charitable holiday season with two tree lightings that will feature live music, singing, snacks, hot drinks and drives for three great causes.  SH4C is a unique business association in that it has done away with the border between Bethel and Newtown; therefore a great event has been planned for both towns.

The Hawleyville Holiday Lighting Ceremony and Toy Collection will take place on Sunday, December 4 from 5:30 to 6:30pm at 23 Barnabas Road in Newtown. Keep reading for more information!

The Stony Hill Holiday Lighting Ceremony and Food Drive will take place on Saturday, November 19 in the Big Y parking lot located at 83 Stony Hill Road on Route 6.  The food drive begins at 12 noon, and local residents are encouraged to help Santa collect food for both Bethel and Newtown food banks.

Folks young and old are welcome to come and enjoy the lighting ceremony from 5:30 to 6:30pm.  The ceremony will feature local music troupe The Pears, snacks, hot drinks, singing, a performance by the SH4C Rockettes of Dance Etc and a special delivery from the Stony Hill Fire Department: Mrs. Claus herself.  SH4C gives special thanks to the Stony Hill and Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Departments for collecting food and hanging holiday decorations for this event.

The Hawleyville Holiday Lighting Ceremony and Toy Collection will take place on Sunday, December 4 from 5:30 to 6:30pm at 23 Barnabas Road in Newtown.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving with the Hawleyville Fire Deparment, Wendy Mitchell will be emceeing, and more snacks, hot drinks, and singing will be in store.  SH4C is asking for donations of unwrapped gifts for boys and girls.  These gifts will go into the Newtown Fund, a social service organization that provides assistance to local residents who have fallen on hard times. All of the donated gifts will aid Newtown families in need this holiday season.  SH4C gives special thanks to the Hawleyville Fire Department for hanging holdiday lights for this event.

SH4C is comprised of myriad diverse businesses throughout the Stony Hill corridor, which runs up Route 6 from exit 8 to exit 9 off Interstate 84.  SH4C works year-round in promoting local business and in creating community events, and not only the holiday tree lightings.  SH4C is also behind the Stony Hill Amber Alert Registration that takes place every spring and the Stony Hill Halloween Pancake Breakfast, where 100% of the  breakfast’s proceeds go towards funding Stony Hill’s ambulance fund.
