Mountain Lion Research Group Seeks Private Newtown Trail Camera Sites

We at Cougars of the Valley, a Connecticut-based mountain lion research group, are consistently receiving high quality reports of sightings as well as track and scat photos from the Newtown, Connecticut area. Enough reporting has come in that we would like to focus one of our trail camera teams to monitor and attempt to obtain video in the Netown area. For this, we need the help of Newtown residents.

We prefer to set our cameras on private land. Our sets are very concealed, safe to all animals, and closely monitored without being intrusive to the property owner. We work very closely with property owners and share our findings of all activity seen on the trail cameras with the owner. We have done this successfully with numerous land owners in the state and it is a mutually beneficial endeavor for both parties.

If you have land in Newtown and you are willing to allow Cougars of the Valley and our trail cameras access, please email you name and the property address. We generally review the property via Google Earth for suitable mountain lion habitats. We keep all private property placed trail camera sites confidential.
