ART AND FRAME of Danbury, a new gallery in Danbury, Connecticut, is excited to announce their second show, “Country and City Life” on display now at the gallery. The solo show features Newtown resident Ruth Newquist, who has enjoyed a successful career in the Connecticut art scene.

ART AND FRAME of Danbury, a new gallery in Danbury, Connecticut, is excited to announce their second show, “Country and City Life”, on display now at the gallery. The solo show features Newtown resident Ruth Newquist, who has enjoyed a successful career in the Connecticut art scene.

Newquist is known for her cityscapes and New England landscapes, watercolor and oil paintings rich in sunlight and color.  She has won many awards, and her paintings have been featured in American Artist magazine.   Newquist is also represented in the hardcover book Splash 12 The Best of Watercolor: Celebrating Artistic Vision, which has just been published by F&W Publications, Inc.

There will be an opening reception for “Country and City Life” on Saturday, August 13 from 5 to 7pm.  The reception is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be served, and live music will be performed by Danbury musician Amanda Bloom.
