“Vulnerable When Naked” Wins First Round of Art-for-All

Art and Frame's Art-for-All best in show winner, "Vulnerable When Naked" by Raz.

The first round of the collaborative Art-for-All launched with great success at Art and Frame of Danbury on Saturday, February 25.  The Art-for-All is a multi-venue art show at Art and Frame, The Mercurial Gallery and The Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury, with a portion of the proceeds from art sales benefiting the Hispanic Center.

At Art and Frame, Susan Blumenthal, owner of the CT Pennysaver, and Susan Chabot, owner of Country Lane Interiors, selected a photograph by Raz titled “Vulnerable When Naked” as best in show and named two honorable mentions.

The first round of the collaborative Art-for-All launched with great success at Art and Frame of Danbury on Saturday, February 25.  The Art-for-All is a multi-venue art show at Art and Frame, The Mercurial Gallery and The Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury, with a portion of the proceeds from art sales benefiting the Hispanic Center.

Due to an anonymous donor, The Hispanic Center is offering a $500 prize the best in show at each venue to be determined by an outside jury.  At Art and Frame, Susan Blumenthal, owner of the CT Pennysaver, and Susan Chabot, owner of Country Lane Interiors, selected a photograph by Raz titled “Vulnerable When Naked” as best in show and gave honorable mentions to “Garden” by Steve Tanenbaum and “Food Market” by Antonio Carvalho.

The show at Art and Frame will be on display through Sunday, March 11, and all works are available for sale.  Art and Frame is located at 60 Newtown Road in the Route 6 Plaza in Danbury, Connecticut.

Round two of the Art-for-All will take place at the Hispanic Center with an opening reception on Saturday, March 3 from 6 to 9 pm.  Jurors Joe DiGuiseppi, a prominent local artist, and Christine Rose, a painter and reporter for the Patch will be announcing the best in show at the reception.  The Hispanic Center is located at 87 West Street, and submissions are being accepted for the show through Wednesday, February 29.  Submissions will be accepted at The Mercurial Gallery, located at 11 Library Place, through Saturday, March 3.  For more information visit themercurialgallery.com.
